xD-ring shackles are one of the fundamental connection points in any recovery setup — they link straps, ropes, and hardware to recovery points, snatch blocks, and tree savers, and they need to be rated for the loads involved. The RotopaX PaX 8 Ton D-Ring Shackle Set gives you two forged steel shackles rated to 8 tons, covering the connection demands of the vast majority of truck, SUV, and overland vehicle recovery scenarios. Sold as a set of two — one at each end of your strap or rope, or one to spare when one is tied up in a rigging setup.
The shackles come in a gloss black finish that resists rust and corrosion while keeping the look clean and low-profile compared to the standard zinc or orange finishes common on other recovery shackles. At 5 inches long, 3.5 inches wide, and 1.8 inches deep, they are a practical size that works with most recovery hardware and vehicle recovery points without being oversized or cumbersome to store in the gear bag.
One thing worth noting if you have seen the product photos: some images show orange shackles, but the current batch is gloss black only. More colors may be available in the future. These are included in the PaX Recovery Gear Kit and available separately for anyone building out or adding to a kit.

Important Notes
- Current batch is Gloss Black only — product photos may show orange shackles, but those are not currently available; more colors will be available in the future
- Do not exceed the 8-ton load rating
- Always ensure the screw pin is fully tightened before applying load — use a shackle keeper or wire through the pin hole for extended use to prevent the pin from backing out under vibration or cycling loads
- Inspect shackles before each use — retire and replace if cracks, bends, gouges, or thread damage are present
Shipping & Return
xShipping
We ship nationwide and internationally. Most in-stock items leave our shop within 1–3 business days. Made-to-order and oversized parts may require additional lead time; any special timing will be noted on the product page.
Order Processing
If an order is placed outside of our normal business hours (Monday–Friday), we will process it as soon as possible once our team is back in the shop during regular operating hours. Weekend orders will be handled the next business day.
Tracking & Delivery
- You'll receive a tracking email as soon as your order ships.
- We cannot ship to PO Boxes for oversized or freight items.
- Signature may be required for high-value shipments.
Freight & Oversize Items
- Large/oversized products (bumpers, racks, etc.) ship via LTL freight.
- Please inspect your delivery at arrival. Note any damage on the carrier’s paperwork and take photos before signing—this is required to file a claim.
- Residential freight includes curbside delivery; inside delivery/appointments may incur additional fees.
International Orders
- Duties, taxes, and import fees are the buyer’s responsibility and are not included at checkout.
- Some products may have export restrictions or carrier limits.
Order Changes & Cancellations
- Requests must be made within 24 hours of purchase when possible.
- Custom or built-to-order items may not be cancellable once production begins.
Returns & Exchanges
We want you stoked on your gear. Eligible items may be returned within 30 days of delivery for a refund or exchange.
Eligibility
- Items must be new, unused, uninstalled, and in original packaging with all hardware.
- Buyer is responsible for return shipping unless the return is due to our error or a confirmed defect.
- A restocking fee (typically 10–20%) may apply to non-defective returns to cover inspection, repackaging, and processing.
Non-Returnable Items
- Installed/used items, custom or made-to-order products, electrical/electronic components, clearance/“garage sale” items, and gift cards.
How to Start a Return
- Log in to your account and open the order, or contact us with your order number.
- We’ll issue return instructions and an RMA if approved. Returns without RMA may be refused.
- Pack securely; include all parts and paperwork. We recommend insured, trackable shipping.
Refunds
- Once received and inspected, approved refunds are issued to the original payment method within 3–5 business days.
- Original shipping charges are non-refundable (except in cases of our error or a confirmed defect).
Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items
- Please contact us within 7 days of delivery with photos of the product, packaging, and shipping label.
- For freight damage, ensure notes are made with the carrier at delivery and take photos before signing.
Warranty
Many products include a manufacturer warranty. We’re happy to help facilitate claims—reach out with your order number, photos, and a description of the issue.
