If you’ve watched your oil temperatures climb on long grades, heavy towing, or mountain passes, you already know the factory OM642 cooling system has limits. The Jakes Fabworks High Flow Oil Cooler Kit is engineered specifically for the Mercedes Sprinter 3.0L OM642 diesel to provide the additional thermal capacity your engine demands under sustained load.

The OM642 relies heavily on engine oil to cool the turbocharger and pistons. During extended pulls, exhaust heat transfers into the turbo housing and oil supply, piston oil squirters add additional thermal load, and the factory coolant-to-oil heat exchanger becomes saturated. When both systems are heat-soaked, oil temperatures can exceed 240–250°F — even when coolant temperatures appear normal.

This dedicated external oil cooler bypasses the factory bottleneck and adds direct airflow heat rejection, lowering equilibrium oil temperatures by approximately 20–40°F. Cooler oil maintains stable viscosity, reduces thermal breakdown, and protects critical components like turbo bearings and internal engine surfaces.

Designed to integrate cleanly with the OEM oil filter housing, this kit installs inline without complex modifications. Whether you’re running a heavy RV conversion, cargo build, fleet vehicle, or regularly towing, this upgrade adds critical protection and reliability for long-term engine health.

Shipping

We ship nationwide and internationally. Most in-stock items leave our shop within 1–3 business days. Made-to-order and oversized parts may require additional lead time; any special timing will be noted on the product page.

Order Processing

If an order is placed outside of our normal business hours (Monday–Friday), we will process it as soon as possible once our team is back in the shop during regular operating hours. Weekend orders will be handled the next business day.

Tracking & Delivery

  • You'll receive a tracking email as soon as your order ships.
  • We cannot ship to PO Boxes for oversized or freight items.
  • Signature may be required for high-value shipments.

Freight & Oversize Items

  • Large/oversized products (bumpers, racks, etc.) ship via LTL freight.
  • Please inspect your delivery at arrival. Note any damage on the carrier’s paperwork and take photos before signing—this is required to file a claim.
  • Residential freight includes curbside delivery; inside delivery/appointments may incur additional fees.

International Orders

  • Duties, taxes, and import fees are the buyer’s responsibility and are not included at checkout.
  • Some products may have export restrictions or carrier limits.

Order Changes & Cancellations

  • Requests must be made within 24 hours of purchase when possible.
  • Custom or built-to-order items may not be cancellable once production begins.

Returns & Exchanges

We want you stoked on your gear. Eligible items may be returned within 30 days of delivery for a refund or exchange.

Eligibility

  • Items must be new, unused, uninstalled, and in original packaging with all hardware.
  • Buyer is responsible for return shipping unless the return is due to our error or a confirmed defect.
  • A restocking fee (typically 10–20%) may apply to non-defective returns to cover inspection, repackaging, and processing.

Non-Returnable Items

  • Installed/used items, custom or made-to-order products, electrical/electronic components, clearance/“garage sale” items, and gift cards.

How to Start a Return

  1. Log in to your account and open the order, or contact us with your order number.
  2. We’ll issue return instructions and an RMA if approved. Returns without RMA may be refused.
  3. Pack securely; include all parts and paperwork. We recommend insured, trackable shipping.

Refunds

  • Once received and inspected, approved refunds are issued to the original payment method within 3–5 business days.
  • Original shipping charges are non-refundable (except in cases of our error or a confirmed defect).

Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items

  • Please contact us within 7 days of delivery with photos of the product, packaging, and shipping label.
  • For freight damage, ensure notes are made with the carrier at delivery and take photos before signing.
